Synergos Brings Economic Growth to Gonzales, Texas with New Structural Building Material Operation

In a significant step toward fostering economic development and job creation, Synergos has officially secured 28 acres of rail-served property in Gonzales, Texas. This land acquisition marks the beginning of an exciting new venture for the company—the construction of a Structural Building Material Operation set to create up to 145 new jobs in the community.

A Collaborative Effort

This transformative project is a result of strong collaboration between Synergos, the Texas Gonzales and Northern Railway (TXGN), the Gonzales Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the City and County of Gonzales, and GVEC. This partnership exemplifies how public and private entities can unite to drive meaningful growth in local communities.

“We are excited to welcome Synergos to Gonzales,” said Susan Sankey, Executive Director of Gonzales Economic Development. “The commitment to creating 145 phased-in jobs will provide a significant boost to our local economy and workforce. This marks a major milestone in our ongoing efforts to foster economic growth and offer new opportunities for the residents of Gonzales and the region. The vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment of our partners have been instrumental in getting this across the finish line. We wish everyone great success.”

Strategic Location and Rail Integration

The new facility will be built on a prime rail-served property managed by TXGN, a subsidiary of TNW Corporation. TXGN owns and operates 12 lead miles of track between Harwood and Gonzales and approximately 67 miles of storage and loop track in Gonzales. This strategic location ensures seamless integration with the Union Pacific Railroad, providing Synergos with efficient transportation and logistics support.

Joey Evans, Director of Business Support and Development for TXGN, highlighted the value of this partnership, stating, “TXGN Railway is very pleased to welcome Synergos to Gonzales, Texas. This long-term alliance promises to strengthen the local and regional communities’ economies and grow our business.”

Synergos’ Vision for Growth

Rich Gallagher, Chief Executive Officer of Synergos Companies, shared the company’s enthusiasm for the project. “At Synergos, we are committed to fostering meaningful growth in the areas we serve. Gonzales offers the perfect blend of opportunity to bring this vision to life. This new facility represents more than just an investment in infrastructure; it is an investment in people, partnerships, and the community. We are proud to work alongside TXGN Railway, the Gonzales EDC, and the City and County of Gonzales to create a project that strengthens operations and the community's economic vitality.”

A Boost to the Local Economy

Construction on the new facility is set to begin in the coming months, with operations expected to commence by 2026. Once operational, the facility will serve as a key driver of economic vitality in Gonzales, offering high-quality jobs and bolstering the region’s supply chain capabilities.
